OPERATION: Level UP is a Non-Profit organization dedicated to improving the mental well-being of our heroes, Military veterans and first responders, through games!
Our Mission is centered on creating a supportive community where heroes and their families can connect, heal and thrive in engaging interactive and immersive gaming and game culture experiences. We believe that fostering relationships and proving respite through these shared activities can have a profound impact on mental health and overall well-being.
THE NEED
The term Battlefield is subjective - it can be a deployment for a veteran or the stressful, & traumatic disturbing situations our 1st Responders face every day! This frequent exposure to critical situations, along with various occupational stressors can significantly increase the risk of:
Stress Injuries and PTS Symptoms, such as sleep disturbances, flashbacks, heightened emotions
Substance misuse and addiction
Strained relationships and divorce
Health Issues such as gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, diabetes related, metabolic and muscular conditions.
Suicidal thoughts
Aniexty & Depression
Fortunately, these challenges can be prevented, alleviated and/or healed when properly addressed. Ongoing advancements in research in healing PTSD thru gaming are equipping us with the tools to support recovery and resilience.
