PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a condition born from trauma - a relentless companion to those who have experienced harrowing events. PTSD can be developed first had and second hand, as family members can develop PTSD from experiencing the PTSD events of their loved one.
PTSD is characterized by symptoms that can negatively impact everyday life with flashbacks, anxiety and heightened emotions. Many studies have reported on the benefits of playing games to combat PTSD. Benefits, such as increased attention and improved cognitive skills. Research has also pointed out the therapeutic potential of playing games, for those grappling with this complex and debilitating disorder.
What Defines "Games"?




Games & gaming encompass as wide range of activities that blend entertainment, challenge, art & social interaction. While the specific definition may vary across cultures and context, the core elements, interactivity, rules, objectives and engagement remain foundational to the gaming experience.
